Apple Paves the Path for 2014’s Tablets with a Great Effort

iPad Air Review:

Introduction

The new Apple’s iPad has everything you can imagine. It is much lighter than earlier versions with 43% thinner bezel.  The price range is also great; varying from £399 to £799 from 16GB memory to 64GB memory. Another bonus is the loads of free software that is available to be used with iOS 7.

Apple’s iPad

Design

When you hold the Apple Air in your hand, you would wonder whether it could stay upright if standing on its own. It is so light-weight that you can wonder if it can literally be blown away. However, this is definitely not true. It is a master piece from the engineer’s at Apple with everything balanced. Its design is based on the Apple mini with the smooth Aluminum back. The back side is wonderful, but the mirrored Apple logo is quite sensitive to finger prints. It is very difficult to remove them. It has top mounted power key, volume key on the side, and silence switch. All buttons are very easy to control.

Display

The display is not overly new, but the things look really nice indeed. Some part of the images and video is reflecting from the back of the screen that looks amazing.

The specifications show that Apple Air is superior in display than Nexus 10. It has PPI that poses a little threat against its competitors, but still it is not a big issue.

Interface

It is pretty much similar in interface as the older versions running iOS 7. It is not fast in terms of sensing speed that is not desired even. You need to have sufficient touch sensing that is optimized for human motion of fingers. The interface also provides a new feature of updates, available by dragging the top of the tablet.

Camera

Apple has kept the similar 5MP iSight camera that has acceptable backside illumination and good low-light performance. There is not much to speak about its snapping pictures’ properties as these are much similar to the previous tablet versions. However, most of the users are not much desirous of having great camera on their iPads also.

Battery Life

The battery life is amazingly high, 10 hours of Wi-Fi surfing, listening to music, and watching video. Obviously, the standby time is quite high and it will take around 3 days for battery to get low from less battery time demanding activities.

Verdict

The iPad Air is a great step towards the Apple’s series of tablets with 28% lighter and 20% thinner design. It occupies almost 24% less volume than previous versions. It has really great design that pushes all its competitors apart. It has great combination of specs, power and a good OS. The cost is also manageable. You can buy the tablet according to the storage requirements from 16 GB to 64GB. The overall reputation of the Tablet is quite high at the moment.
